VAL Desjardins is a visual artist working in performance, intervention, video, and photography, presently living and working in Montreal.
She has exhibited nationally and internationally with exhibitions and performances at galleries and museums including Skol, M.A.I., Studio 303 and the Museum of Fine Arts (Montreal), Latitude53 Gallery (Alberta), Pierro Gallery (New Jersey), Galapagos Art Space (Brooklyn, NY) and film festivals all over the world.
VAL is particularly interested in exploring the emotional body, deconstructing social histories and challenging existing representations of gender. She strives towards opening minds and stimulating people visually by challenging the mainstream and offering alternative positions.

VAL est une artiste qui habite et travaille à Montreal. Elle s'exprime en langage visuel par le biais de l'art expérimental et de la performance. Elle est une provocatrice qui cherche à ouvrir les esprits et stimuler les gens visuellement, tout en offrant les plaisirs d’un spectacle. VAL est à l'aise aussi bien derrière que devant la caméra, adore la scène, passe des heures à écrire et collaborer avec les artistes qui l'entourent.
